At concerts, the rumble of the drums can’t help but make everyone want to jump with enthusiasm. Even at the average high school dance, people can’t contain the excitement that is spread solely by the beats of catchy songs.

This burst of energy can be found at almost all gatherings, and at the heart of this electricity is what is known as the mosh pit.

Mosh pits can be the most exciting place to be during an event, but also one of the toughest crowds to fit in to; literally. Here are some pointers on how to get the least amount of injuries in the festivities:

· Wear proper footwear. If you don’t have the right type of shoes, don’t go in; your feet will get trampled.

·  Try to body surf. Not only is it fun to do, but body surfing keeps you above the commotion of everyone beneath you. This way, instead of being pushed and shoved, you’re right above it all.  Just be careful when the crowd collectively decides to drop you.

· Go with the flow of the crowd. Once you fight against it, you start getting injured.

· If you are claustrophobic, run for your dear life. Not only does everyone close in on you but they all smell, and are sweaty. In fact, just avoid the whole concert idea if you are claustrophobic.

· Bring a friend. When you have someone else with you, they’re there to watch your back. If you don’t have a friend to take, then make friends. At these big events even the most socially awkward kid can find a friend.

If you don’t meet any of these requirements, then just go for it. You will get pushed around and fists, legs, and arms will be flailing everywhere, but try to enjoy yourself. Take time to watch the show and feel the electricity in the crowd because it is an experience you will never forget.
