All three bands wait on stage to find out who won.

Karina Taylor, a parent in the PTA, has been a part of the Battle of the Bands for three years. She loves listening to the students perform and become better through the battle. Each year, students sign up in September and then perform at the end of January. This year, there were three bands participating in the event: Winded, The Compromise, and Papercut Party.

The event was in person and all proceeds from tickets went to Cultiva International. The organization mentors and helps eliminate external and internal poverty by helping families learn to make and grow their own food. Over the few years Cultiva has been around, they have planted 2,100 garden boxes, helped 500 people in active mentorship, and have impacted the lives of 9,500 people. Battle of the Bands hoped to raise $500 to help five families. The total of the money raised was $1,200, and now Bingham can help support 12 different families.

Battle of the Bands started with the SBOs warming up the crowd and getting them excited for what was about to happen. Then, each band in the competition performed three songs: one original, one cover, and then one of their choice. The first band was Winded, followed by Papercut Party and The Compromise. In between performances, the MCs chose three members from the audience to compete in a karaoke competition, with songs including Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts and Fergalicous by Fergi.

Community members act as judges. The three judges cast their votes followed by a popular vote from the audience, which was done through a QR code. The winner of the event was the band Papercut Party, winning for their second year in a row. Winded took second, and The Compromise got third as well as the popular vote. Papercut party will now move on to regionals, and then to statewide competitions if they win again.
