How to Survive the Parking Lot
Here at Bingham, one thing you can always look out for each day is how crazy the parking lot is. Here are some tips on the parking lot that you can use in your everyday life. After reading this, hopefully you will never have any trouble with Bingham’s parking lot again.
Tip #1: Probably the most important thing everyone should know if they don’t already is that the back parking lot is also used as a driving range starting at 3:00 p.m. every day. If you are parking your car out in the very back area, make sure you move your car before then so you don’t get ticketed. The fees for parking violations are $20 for juniors and seniors, and $50 for sophomores.
Tip #2: Usually, everyone tries to get in and out of the school at the same time every day, so changing the time you get to and leave school even by a few minutes can make a big difference. School starts at 7:30 each morning, so, naturally, everyone is trying to get into the parking lot at around 7:25. If you leave your house just a bit earlier than usual and get to school around 7:05, you’ll find that most of the parking lot is empty and you can easily drive around without all the traffic. Also, you’ll be able to get a better spot than if you came later.
The same goes for after school. Everyone leaves the school around 2:25, so getting out can be difficult at times. Just stick around for 10 to 15 minutes, and by then the majority of people will have already left the school, making getting out a lot easier for you.
Tip #3: Riding a motorcycle can also be a really good advantage for people who usually arrive 30 seconds before class starts. If you know how to ride a motorcycle and have your license already, this can be a real game changer when it comes to parking. Although you will need to buy a parking pass for your motorcycle, a major upside to riding a motorcycle is that the school allows you to park anywhere on the wide sidewalks in front of or behind the school. Not to mention the easy maneuverability of motorcycles, allowing for easy access into and out of the lot. Riding a bicycle could also be a good option.
In conclusion, the parking lot is a big, scary place for us to have to deal with every day. We constantly have to keep in mind most of these tips for when we need to get in and out of the school. It sounds like a lot of work just to get to school, but if you haven’t already got how this place works, hopefully this helped you out a bit.
