Bingham Miners Tame the Herriman Mustangs
The Bingham Miners were victorious against the Herriman Mustangs 65-57 on Tuesday, December 9th at Herriman with the help of Jared Holman, who scored 20 points.
At the half, the Bingham Miners finished up 31-22 on the strength of a 13-2 run. The Bingham Miners solidified their lead in the final quarter, scoring 20 more points.
Holman led the team’s offense with 20 points, eight of them were scored during fourth quarter. He also contributed nine rebounds and four blocks.
Yoeli Childs made a huge impact in the game as well, scoring 19 points for the Miners (8-for-12). Also helping the effort for Bingham were Mike Green (8 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block), Landon Walbeck (6 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal), Jordan Matthews (5 points, 1 rebound), Lleyton Parker (4 points, 5 rebounds), and Josh Newbold (3 points, 5 rebounds).
The Miners finished the game with 43 rebounds, seven blocks, and four steals.
Herriman started making a comeback towards the end of the game, and Coach Schroeder said, “We got rushed and they went on a run. I was proud of how we answered, we had three great possessions and that’s what pulled it away for us.”
