Soccer, Cross Country, Golf, and More!
Bingham athletes have worked hard this fall to become part of the legacy. As their seasons come to an end, let’s review their seasons.
Girl’s Soccer
The girl’s soccer team has been training nonstop. As they trained for about ten hours a week, they also fought and still are fighting to get their own field here on campus. Elysse Powley and Emily Palafox have said it’s a struggle to have to go to South Jordan middle school for their practices and games, especially when they have to practice right after school. The varsity team’s season ended with having won seven games and losing three.
Cross Country
As for cross country, they have also improved even more from previous seasons. The amount of excellent racers on their team has increased this season. Throughout the season, they’ve built each other up to become better racers. Both their teams, boys and girls, made it to state on Oct. 27 and each scored 12th. Natalie Swain finished 8th in all of state.
Boy’s Golf
The boy’s golf team here at Bingham practiced every day after school. They even do mental training every Friday. Their practices are on a range and they do region matches once or twice a week. They ended their season by being 2nd in Region and 9th at State. Their top player out of their sixteen total was Jack Tobler. “He averaged about 73 for his 18-hole rounds,” stated Coach Arbogast.
Mountain Biking
The mountain biking team just finished their season as well. The team practiced for the past six months at either Round Valley in Park City or at Eagle Mountain trail head. They would have practice every Monday and Thursday on a normal week and Monday and Wednesday on race weeks. Their races are on the weekends. Amanda Bullock, a member of the mountain biking team, said that the team has had an awesome season and that they have had so much improvement.
Girls’ Volleyball
Finally, the girl’s volleyball team practiced Monday through Friday every week after school. They won six games and lost four games this season in our region. “We’re doing well as a team, we have lots of fun working really hard together!” stated Alli Hawes, a member of the JV team.
Clearly, Bingham’s fall sport’s teams had fun this season while still working hard. They’re all ready to come back next season and put in all their hard work again!
I am a senior and enjoy hanging with friends, listening to music, and working at Dutch Bros!
