In 1985, Utah’s license plates first started to boast the slogan “Greatest Snow on Earth.” Just seventeen years later, Salt Lake City hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, and now it looks like Salt Lake City is in the running for the 2030 Winter Olympics.
It is that time of year again where all countries in the world simultaneously sit down in front of their TVs and obsess over one thing: the Winter Olympics. They will be held in PyeongChang, South Korea, and go from February 9 to February 25.
In the nearly two decades since the Winter Olympics were hosted in Salt Lake City, the impact of the games has not faded away, and an opportunity to bring the games back to Utah is in the mix.

This year’s Winter Olympics will be held in Pyeongchang, South Korea from February 8 to February 27. This is the first time since 1988 that South Korea has hosted an Olympics.
