In an intense battle on the field against the Riverton Silverwolves our Lady Miners Soccer team fought hard for their senior night. Despite the loss of 2-0 our teams spirit and dedication was showcased throughout the game. Before the game we were able to celebrate our amazing seniors who have been putting in the work and the effort with a “beautiful ceremony”, says Alexi Ames, Varsity Girls Soccer player.
Alexi Ames says the girls played very well in the first half of the game but says they could have worked better as a team in the second half. Before the game the senior night shenanigans began. Alexi says she had TONS of family and friends there to support her, along with many of the players. Senior players were awarded with blankets, flowers, leis, signed frames and signed soccer balls. If you were there you know how fun it is to watch these diligent seniors get awarded for their work.
The crowd was wild for senior night and as much as it might have been a good thing the crowd was so big, it seems it may have caused some of the players some mild anxiety and nervousness. While the support was uplifting the intensity of it ended up being slightly overwhelming.
Regardless of winning or losing soccer is an amazing sport with talented athletes and it was an amazing experience to see how the Seniors will go on to help bring up these younger athletes aspiring to be great.
