Kindest celebrities

Ah, celebrities. People have such a strange obsession with each celebrity and their lives. Whether it’s out of jealousy or hatred, I’ll never understand how you could be obsessed over someone who’s on the big screen or in the music industry. If you put the money aspects aside, they’re normal people just like us. What I can understand, however, is the love people have for certain celebrities. Today, we’re going to look at some of the celebrities that most people love and what makes them so loved.

Mark Hamill

Starting with an absolute legend, Mark Hamill has been one of the most pleasant celebrities in the Hollywood scene. With his biggest roles being Luke Skywalker, The Joker in various animated DC shows and games, Skips from Regular Show (rated TV-PG), and Firelord Ozai from Avatar: The Last Airbender (rated TV-Y7), you’d think all of that fame would go to his head, and yet he’s continuously been viewed in a positive light to the public eye. In both interviews and fan interactions, he always presents himself as just a regular guy who’s easy to talk to. If you take a look at his X (formally known as Twitter) and Instagram accounts, Hamil really does come across as a regular dude who posts memes and shares his thoughts.

Something that always stood out to me about him is his loyalty to his friends, family, and fans. As I previously mentioned, one of Mark Hamil’s most iconic roles is the Joker in some of the animated DC shows, as well as some DC games. If you notice, he’s in almost every DC-related project that Kevin Conroy is in. Conroy, who unfortunately passed away in 2022, voiced Batman in each of those projects. The two were like partners when it came to voicing their respective characters. But because of Conroy’s passing, Hamil has retired from voicing Joker for good. At Fanexpo, he explained, “I got to the point in my career where they’d call me- they’d say “They want you for Joker” and I said, “Is Kevin doing it?” and if they said yes, I’d say. “I’m in”. I don’t have to read the script. If Kevin’s doing it, I’m doing it.” The fact that Hamil didn’t even care about what the project was and he just wanted to do it with Conroy shows how much he valued and respected Conroy. Truly inspiring.

Post Malone

I remember when I first saw what Post Malone looked like, I thought he looked super weird because of all of the face tattoos. Because of that, I kind of shied away from his music. What didn’t help was that one of his most popular (or most consistently played) songs was Psycho. By about 2022, I was giving another listen to his music and found a lot of bangers like Better Now (Explicit), Rockstar (Explicit), Circles (even though it was overplayed, it’s still a banger), and White Iverson (Explicit). So, like I do with a lot of the artists I listen to, I decided to just look up some stuff about him and I have to say, I’ve never seen so much love and praise for a musician like Post. The best way I can think to describe the level of positivity towards him would be to call him the Keanu of music.

Whether it be through fan interactions or even hate interactions, Post manages to stay kind and humble throughout the entire interaction. Even if you don’t like his music, it’s pretty hard to hate him as a person because of how down-to-earth he is. And to top it off, he takes insults like a champ and just laughs. There was a video he did in 2017 called “Post Malone on Shia LaBeouf, Being White and Not Being Fat | The People Vs” where he read a bunch of mean comments. The first comment he read was “This fatty sings so good”. Most people would expect a natural reaction to a comment like this would be to defend themselves or be upset. Not Post. He laughed for a few seconds and proceeded to say, “I think the whole word “fatty” is just funny to hear. I’ve never heard anyone call me a fatty.” Obviously as a big musician, you don’t want to give the haters the time of day or take them seriously, but the fact that he just laughed and thought it was funny says a lot about his character.

Another example of Post’s kind, caring nature was through a fan interaction. During one of his concerts, he was being escorted by security while giving his adoring fans high-fives and handshakes, but he accidentally knocked over a fan’s drink. He proceeded to run off somewhere, coming back with a drink and giving it to the fan. You can’t deny that he’s one of the most kind musicians out there.

Pedro Pascal

It would be a travesty to leave Pedro Pascal out of this group of celebrities.

Before his big blow up in the mainstream media, Pedro starred in a few short films before getting bigger roles, notably that of Oberyn Martell and Javier Pena. The spotlight was centered on him in late 2019 with the release of a little show called The Mandalorian (rated TV-14). In the show, he had the lead role, Din Djarin. Because of how big Star Wars is, it’s unsurprising that was when he had his blowup, which led to him getting a lot more attention and notice in his previous works, as well as his future works, such as Joe Miller in The Last of Us (rated TV-MA).

So, what made everyone fall in love with him so quickly? Well, putting his acting aside, I would say his personality. Pedro has a very charismatic personality and some great humor.

With that humor, he has one of the most infectious laughs I’ve ever heard. In April of 2022, Vanity Fair invited him to take a lie detector test (the video is titled “Pedro Pascal Takes a Lie Detector Test | Vanity Fair”). In it, one of the questions asked was, “Do you ever look at Instagram accounts devoted to you being a heartthrob whenever you’re feeling down?” He hesitantly responded, “Yes, I do!” and burst into hysterical laughter, seemingly embarrassed. I can’t help but laugh with him every time.

Like the other celebrities on this list, he’s a delight in fan interactions, as well as interactions with fellow actors and co-stars. Overall, Pedro Pascal is like the golden retriever of the acting industry.

Ryan Reynolds

You all saw this coming. To cut straight to the point, almost every person loves something about Ryan. From his looks to his personality to his acting, you have to be insane to hate him, unless you’re just annoyed by how much people talk about him. Like Pedro Pascal, Ryan Reynolds has an unreal level of charisma that you just can’t seem to get enough of.

In interviews, he looks like he’s having the time of his life. It’s not just because he loves talking about his movies or his fellow actors, it’s because he loves messing with his interviewers. I’ve watched multiple interviews he’s done and a very common theme I’ve noticed is whenever it comes to his private life, he has some sort of sarcastic response at the ready every time. But the cool thing is that he’s not passive-aggressive with his sarcastic, witty remarks. It’s a very light-hearted way to indirectly say “I’m going to answer your question, it’s just not going to give you the true answer because that’s my business, not yours” and I respect that, as should everyone. It’s pretty hard to maintain your private life while being as big as he is, so being able to go about that in a careful but also fun way is impressive.

Very few celebrities can or want to make time for fans, but Ryan seems to find a way. Unsurprisingly, he’s very kind when interacting with fans and does an amazing job at making them feel comfortable as if they were just talking to another everyday person. YouTuber Jacksepticeye, who is a fan of Reynolds’ work, even had the opportunity to interview him and ask some questions about Deadpool 2 (rated R). Not unheard of for YouTubers, but it’s not often that they’re able to interview big movie stars like Ryan Reynolds. It goes to show how much he cares and tries to do right by his fans.

While he leads a relatively private life, his social media activity highlights just how much he loves what he does. His Instagram is full of pictures with fellow co-stars and friends who he sings nothing but praise to whenever he can. On his YouTube channel, you can find him excitedly promoting his upcoming movies or Mint Mobile.

Keanu Reeves

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Keanu Reeves has been unanimously loved by everyone for years and continues to be hailed as one of the kindest, most down-to-earth people in the world.

Movie star, bass player, motorcycle enthusiast, and internet meme, Keanu is breathtaking, to say the least. He’s a master at finding a seemingly impossible middle ground between being serious and light-hearted at the same time. One second, a journalist or interviewer could be asking Keanu about his role in his upcoming project or what his favorite food is, and then just do a complete 180 and ask him what the meaning of life is and he’ll switch tones immediately.

Keanu is interesting because of how private of a person he is. In interviews, he answers every question fairly. If it’s a question about his private life, he either answers with very few details, a little joke or kindly directs the conversation elsewhere, which usually ends up being less awkward than other celebrities who get angered or upset by the question.

Much like Mark Hamil, Keanu Reeves comes across as just a normal person like you and I. There are tons of pictures online of Keanu out and about in public doing everyday things, the biggest example being the sad Keanu meme. For those of you who are scratching your head, the sad Keanu meme is a picture of Keanu sitting on a park bench eating a sandwich alone while staring at the ground, looking like he’s either sad or thinking about something. Once that picture blew up, tons of people began questioning if Keanu was secretly lonely or depressed, but the John Wick star assured everyone that he was fine and was just eating a sandwich. I think it’s pictures like the sad Keanu meme that remind us that actors like Keanu are people just like us.

The fans are what make the actors as big as they are, and it’s clear that Keanu adores every single one of them. Anytime he attends the premiere of his upcoming movie or announcement of an upcoming project, he’s just as excited as the fans and looks like he’s having the time of his life just being there. Back in 2019 when Cyberpunk 2077 (rated M) was announced at E3, Keanu attended the gaming convention to give a little more information about the game. Once he stepped foot on stage, the applause and cheers were so loud and long that he had to quiet everyone down once or twice to say what he needed to say, but it’s very clear the amount of support warmed his heart, as you can see him smiling and beaming throughout the entire reveal. And of course, his smile increased ten times more once an E3 attendee shouted, “You’re breathtaking!” He couldn’t help but break into a smile and shout, “You’re breathtaking! You’re all breathtaking!” and thus, another meme was born. And while the game was released with a multitude of problems that have since been fixed, it was a delight to see Keanu so excited about the project, much like the rest of the fans.

And of course, we can’t forget about how Keanu interacts with the fans. He’s in the same boat as his fans whenever the excitement of his upcoming project arises, and when it comes to interactions with fans, he’s kind and patient through it all. Keanu is one of the most humble, wholesome, passionate, and real actors in the business and it’s not hard to see why he’s one of the most beloved individuals in history.
