Annette Ford

The art hallway in Bingham High is my favorite hallway. You may find some of Annette Ford’s artwork on display. Annette, a senior at Bingham, is a fantastic artist. Her artwork is amazing and so creative. She’s always loved art her whole life, but she really started to get more serious about art later in middle school.

Annette says, “I’ve always been in awe of artists and wanted to be one ever since I was young. I’ve grown up and been largely influenced by artists/animators.” Annette’s art has definitely grown. Starting as a young girl looking up to artists and now being a great artist with a amazing imagination, and planning to improve her art.

She didn’t get where she is now easily. She says, “I’ve struggled a lot and felt like my art isn’t good enough for the longest time, but gradually I’ve realized that to get better is to dedicate time and to be persistent.” Annette has dealt with roadblocks but she never gave up and she comes out strong. Alvalyn Lundgren from Alvalyn Creative from a art website says, “You need to make a commitment and even schedule regular time in your week or your day to pursue drawing. In order to become better at it you need to make a habit of it.”

Annette loves all kind of art, especially sketching, watercolour and gouache. Annette says, “My favorite thing to do is to draw in my sketchbook.” Annette got a lot of her inspiration from the art teachers here at Bingham. “I’ve taken Mrs. James and Mr. Jackson’s classes and they’ve taught me so much and been a constant inspiration to improve my art.”

She plans on continuing an education in art and constantly drawing and challenging herself to improve. “I’m thinking of going into animation but I’m also interested in illustration, graphic design and concept art.”

Annette is an inspiration and has so much creativity. She tends to move forward with her art. She has grown as an artist and will keep growing.
