I Am Grateful For: Food Of Every Kind

Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and gravy are the foods that speak Thanksgiving. There is no better time of year to be grateful for food than at Thanksgiving.

As Americans, we tend to take food for granted. Hungry? Open the fridge.  Bored? Open the fridge. Stressed? Open the fridge. That is just how we live.

But rarely do we think about how lucky we are to have such easy access to food. According to World Food Programme, “Some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That’s about one in nine people on earth”.

I am so thankful for the delicious foods I get to eat every day. Whether it is a dinner at my favorite restaurant or something special prepared by my mom, my gratitude is endless.

After a long, tiring day, there is nothing better than some good ole comfort food. My go-to comfort food is always macaroni and cheese. Not only is it delicious, but it brings back childhood memories.

Food is the key to keep us going throughout the day. Whether it is before a sports game, a performance, or a big test, food is what will make or break us. I love to eat a big meal in preparation for a big day. There is no better way to start the day than with a hot stack of pancakes, scrambled eggs, caramelized bacon, and sausage.

And who could say no to a juicy cheeseburger with some fries and a shake on the side? If that does not make your mouth water, than I don’t know what does.

Not to forget, warm brownies and cookies fresh from the oven are the ultimate food for a cold winter’s day. The smell of cookies from the oven defusing through the entire house is almost as good as actually eating them.

Food is a beautiful thing that speaks to our hearts and our stomachs. It is something that we need to show gratitude for each and every day.
