Childhood Foods

Animal crackers, Cosmic Brownies, Gushers, Kid Cuisine, Lunchables, and Otter Pops. The names of these foods might bring your taste buds back to your childhood. According to Jessica Brown from How Stuff Works, some of the most popular childhood foods are ones that we still eat today, with the number one ranking being pizza, which we can still get here in Bingham’s cafeteria in the pizza line. As you move further on down Brown’s list, you will find that many of these favorite childhood food items can be found in Bingham’s lunch lines, and are enjoyed every day of the school week, such foods include chicken nuggets, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and hamburgers. The final item on the list is chicken noodle soup, which, many may associate with eating when they were sick with a cold or eating it on a cold winter day to warm themselves up. Many of these foods, although they seem like they’re something that we don’t eat very often haven’t had since we were kids, are things that some people may eat just about once a week or so.

There are some items that some people may feel like they haven’t had since they were in elementary school or middle school, like ring pops ㅡ little candy suckers on plastic rings that can range from flavors like the popular blue raspberry to the less popular green apple. Another item that some may feel like they haven’t enjoyed since much earlier in their childhood might be pixie sticks. Not the giant pixie sticks in the one ounce plastic straws, but the smaller pixie sticks in the little paper tubes that you used to get in your Halloween buckets when out collecting candy on Halloween. Another one that I’m sure many of us haven’t had since we were much younger would be Lunchables and Kid Cuisines. Lunchables were easy to pack and eat during your lunch. Kid Cuisines were TV dinners where you only had to heat them up in the microwave, and, then you have your dinner ready along with a treat for you to eat after your meal.

Although we may have not had these foods since we were young children, it’s not too late to try these foods again and enjoy them once more.. All you have to do, is try your favorite childhood foods once again, and enjoy the nostalgic feel you get when you eat them.
