Dear Bingham,

Wow, these three years have been a rollercoaster of high highs and low lows! But, I mean, I’m here. I got through high school…surprisingly. With graduation just a few steps away I’d like to look back and reflect onto the past three years and how much I have grown.

It feels like just yesterday when I was walking into Bingham just being a tiny, little child (even though I’ve only grown a few cm since then), scared of what was to come and leaving the comfort of the bubble I built in middle school. I had no idea then what wild things were to come in the following years.

I’ve made so many amazing friends, lost a few others, even changed friend groups entirely my senior year. However, I’ve learned so much from each and every one of them even if at the time I’d rather not have learned anything from them.

I learned that I shouldn’t take for granted the moments I have with my friends because I don’t know how long I have left with them, so live in the moment, embrace it, and appreciate the time you have.

I’ve also learned that I need to stop giving all my energy to one person who doesn’t reciprocate and to know my worth and not be walked all over.

I’ve been able to participate in so many fun activities here at Bingham, like concerts, dances, clubs, and sports.

I went to choir and orchestra concerts to support my friends, which, man, I don’t think I’ve gone to such a long concert in…ever. Also the Battle of the Bands was the best: I basically fell in love with everyone and was so sad when they had to stop playing.

Man, there were some wack dances that happened, but I mean, there ain’t no party like a Miner party! My greatest achievement was spending no more than about $20 on each day-date! I was efficient and started preparing to be a broke college student.

I participated in sports and was able to play lacrosse for four years at the high school level and got to bond with so many people and gain amazing friendships with the girls on the team. I loved the thrill of the game and screaming so much I couldn’t talk at a normal pitch for a few days.

I’ve played goalie all four years, and, to put the cherry on top, I was able to play offence for the second half of my senior night, and within the first 25 seconds of the game, I scored my very first goal ever! The crowd went crazy, and it was the best feeling ever.

Bingham has given me a lot in so little time. Learning all the knowledge I could, like how the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, how to procrastinate and still pass (like, for example, this letter). I’m happy to say I am leaving high school and starting a new chapter in my life. I can’t wait to go off to college and begin my own path. I’m going to miss all my friends and memories I’ve made with them.

Well, I guess this is goodbye.

Love,

Molly
